winning
that face really did launch a thousand ships but they're all quiet now and the shadows fight the sunlight as science will permit blue in the sky and green on the trees the sun keeps its promise and the wind still deceives here and now at the intersection of forever and a new beginning it's all about winning through attrition as buildings disappear into the trees and in all these years I never thought I would see the purposeful beach crowd talking out loud just short of walking their dogs in the summer heat I respectfully decline to compete as the overweight procession enters a new phase of depression tangled in the gardens with the fine wine of redemption hiding like cats with strangers in the house or when someone shouts the epitome of our remission is like superstition in the fallacy of where we want to be

Love this.
I like this one, as it's a little more concrete in subject matter! The familiar quote from Helen of Troy is a nice touch!
