I'm an NFL man, I used to love MLB too but not since NYY put a BLM logo on the pitchers mound. A lot of letters there, LOL.. I couldn't care less about soccer. In 1968-69-70 I stayed upstate NY with family friends who were DEEP into effort to promote soccer in te US, the father (Chester Brooks) played on the 1934 Polish Soccer team, same year as the Jesse Owens, Hitler, dust up. etc..Chester was like a father to me for 3 summers, he was huge in the New Jersey soccer story, they were from Clifton NJ, IDK it just never hit me as something to follow. TMI?.. sorry, LOL.
I'm a Rams fan since 1968, I have a Bucs story too believe it or not. I used to work with a guy named Nick Colavito in the DSNY. super good guy, we're still in touch, he had a brother Steve, who was on the original TB Bucs roster in 1978. Steve is passed now, but he played linebacker for TB, probably 2 or 3 years, then injuries stopped him.
that’s interesting you worked helping keep NYC clean? sorry he passed, and i saw many injuries on the field and wondered if the millions they made was worth it for them in the end.
yeah I retired from DSNY in 2010, I only met Steve once, he was actually a “goodfella” like in the movies, enough said, unusually strong guy for 5'10”, they didnt get the big money in the late 70s, or early 80s

To me publishing is beside the point. Getting your stories out in the open is its own liberation.
I agree completely, I used to burden my RL friends with poetry in text, now I have an audience (although small) that welcomes it.
